Internships

Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) has an active internship program for our technology students. The FDTC Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Internship Program provides an educational experience in which students complement their academic studies with relevant work experience.

Depending on the academic program you are interested in determines the students’ available work days and times. The FDTC ATE Program has students in the following academic programs;

Civil Engineering Technology (CET)

Civil/Graphics Engineering Technology (CET/EGT)

Electronics Engineering Technology (EET)

Machine Tool Technology

Industrial Technology

Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET)

Network Systems Management (NSM)

As an employer there are three options for you to employ an intern; 1) company direct hire, 2) through an employment agency, or 3) through the FDTC ATE Foundation. Through the FDTC foundation we handle all the payroll, worker compensation, and general liability.

The process to get started is easy. We would discuss your needs and send this information out to our students that have expressed an interest in the internship or job opportunity. Ideally you could invite students to your site for a tour and interviews. This gives you the opportunity to see the students in a more informal setting and students can see firsthand the work environment.

Submit your internship job listing 2 ways:

1). Post/upload through FDTC’s College Central Network

The College Central Network (CCN) for Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) is available to students, alumni, and employers. As an employer, depending on your access level, you may post jobs (full, part-time, co-op, and/or internships) targeted to FDTC’s students and alumni; search résumés of FDTC’s students and alumni; search career portfolios that have been prepared by FDTC’s students and alumni, and post positions that involve on-campus interviews.

All services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. However, you must register your organization to gain access to FDTC-CNN. Once your registration is reviewed, if it is approved you will receive an email which includes a link to activate your account.

You must have an email account to register on FDTC-CNN.
